Ingredients:
- 800g halal ground beef
- 4 brioche burger buns, halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices of halal cheddar cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Pickles, sliced, for serving
Secret Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust according to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Instructions:
- Make the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Patties: Heat the olive oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If you’re adding cheese, place a slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking and cover the pan to melt the cheese.
- Prepare the Secret Sauce: Mix together all the ingredients for the secret sauce in a small bowl.
- Toast the Buns: Lightly brush the cut sides of the buns with olive oil and toast them on the pan for about 1 minute until golden.
- Assemble the Burgers: Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, a beef patty, tomato slices, red onion, and pickles. Drizzle with the secret sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
