Serves: 2
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 6-8 minutes (for medium-rare; adjust according to preference)
Ingredients:
- 2 Halal rib boneless steaks (approximately 200-250g each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional for extra flavour)
- A sprig of rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preparation: Let the steaks rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes before cooking. This ensures even more cooking.
- Season: Rub each steak with olive oil and then season generously with salt and pepper. If you like, rub minced garlic onto the steaks for added flavour.
- Preheat the Pan: Heat a heavy frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. You don’t need to add oil to the pan if you’ve already oiled the steaks.
- Cook: Place the steaks in the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time if you prefer your steak more or less done.
- Rest: After cooking, transfer the steaks to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Let them rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Serve: Garnish with a sprig of rosemary or thyme if desired. Serve immediately, perhaps with a side of roasted vegetables or a crisp salad.
