Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 500g Halal beef mince (15-20% fat for juiciness)
- 1 medium onion, finely grated or minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 75g breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
- Form Meatballs: With damp hands, form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Cook Meatballs: Heat a few tablespoons of olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Drain: Once cooked, transfer the meatballs to a plate lined with kitchen paper to drain any excess oil.
- Serve: Serve the meatballs hot with your choice of sauce (tomato, creamy, or gravy), alongside pasta, rice, or bread, and a side of vegetables or salad.
