Halal Beef Tacos Dallas Style recipe

Ingredients:

    • 800g halal ground beef
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 2 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 tablespoon chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons cumin
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    • 8 small corn tortillas
  • For the Salsa:
      • 2 ripe tomatoes, diced
      • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
      • 1 jalapeño, deseeded and finely chopped (optional)
      • Juice of 1 lime
      • A handful of fresh coriander, chopped
      • Salt, to taste
  • For the Guacamole:
    • 2 ripe avocados
    • Juice of 1 lime
    • Salt, to taste

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Beef: Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until soft. Increase the heat to high, add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  2. Prepare the Salsa: Mix the tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, coriander, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Make the Guacamole: Mash the avocados in another bowl. Stir in the lime juice and salt.
  4. Warm the Tortillas: Heat the tortillas in a dry pan, microwave, or oven until warm and slightly charred at the edges.
  5. Assemble the Tacos: Spoon the beef mixture onto the warm tortillas. Top with salsa and a dollop of guacamole. Serve immediately.
